An Honest Review:
Dharma Southern Kitchen... mmmm. Such comfort food. This place has all the southern comfort with a little unique kick that makes me want to go back the next time I visit Florida. There are currently 3 locations for this scorchin' spot- Tampa, FL, Orlanda, FL, and Sanford, FL. We visited the location in Tampa, which is located in a wonderfully designed public market in downtown. There was ample parking and plenty of seating, and of course the food was super! What really stood out to me here was the unique flavors in their dishes- particularly their broad use of spices and chiles from many places around the world. The catch with this place is that the Tampa/Sanford location has a different menu than the Orlando location. Their main hits can be found on both menu locations.
This food is modern, classic, fun, light, and grounded all at the same time. The Nashville "Hawt" was mind-blowing with unique flavor, delicious breading, spices, and especially fresh toppings. The Dharma Fried Chick'n DFC was also very, very yummy- the biscuit and pickles on the side a sweet and savory homage to traditional southern cooking. My boyfriend tried a piece of the fried chicken, and then proceeded to purchase two more boxes for our trip back home- truly a good decision. I wanted to try the whole Mac n' Cheese flight, but the Tampa location was out of the Garlic Mac n' Cheese (which is just another reason to go back). I did try the Buffalo and Traditional flavor- they are definitely worth getting again. I can only imagine the deliciousness of the Garlic mac. Lastly, the curly fries were great- they were hot, well-seasoned, and not too oily.
