An Honest Review: Kale My Name?! Yes please, and thank you. I decided to take my partner out for a date on his day off, and thought that visiting this new vegan spot would be a riveting adventure. I am so happy that we took the drive out and discovered another unique vegan gem that is leaving us daydreaming. Simply put- if I need to say "kale me" to enter these doors and dine- I will. The food is just delicious, the environment is a touch of eclectic, modern, with a natural, comfy feel, but is also a bit luxurious and colorful. The food was so creative and fantastic, with so many flavors and plant-based cuisines to try, we had to sample more than just one or two dishes for our first visit. Another plus about this space is that they offer tea parties! With a globally inspired vegan menu, Kale My Name has something for everyone and offers high-quality vegan food with a touch of home.

Two smoothies were ordered to start the feast- a Philippines Smoothie (Dragon Fruit, Pineapple, Banana with Coconut Milk, and also a Brazil Smoothie (Espresso Powder, Chocolate, Banana with Coconut Milk). Those smoothies were great! My sweet tooth was satisfied by the natural sugars in the fruits, and my partner was very happy with his coffee fix. After trying these, we had to try the Greek Fries, Mac Balls, Buffalo Cauliflower Wings, and Tequeños first- three rare vegan appetizers, and one classic. I was most excited for the Greek Fries, not having had such a delicacy in many years. These were perfectly executed- a savory combination of potato, oil, lemon, herbs, and creamy, soft, vegan feta. Wow! The Mac Balls were perfectly fried and soft on the inside, and the Tequeños were crispy goodness full of perfectly gooey, melty vegan cheese- I was transported somewhere else while indulging in these! The cheese texture and taste was impressive, and rich, along with the dough, which was crispy and flaky. Tequeños with Garlic Aioli on the side to dip are pretty hard to resist- and I did not whatsoever. The Cauliflower Wings were also very well-fried and seasoned, and I love how the Buffalo sauce was dumped on top of the wings right before being brought out to the table. This kept the wings crispier, for longer. I like a nice balance of sauce and crunch- good call, chefs! For the main course, we ordered the Italian Seitan Wrap, along with the amazingly beautiful Cauliflower Wings and Waffles. There is just one waffle for the Cauliflower Wings and Waffles, and it is very big and very filling. The Cauliflower Wings on the waffle were tasty, crispy, and just the right amount of salty and savory compared to the sweet maple syrup and the waffle itself. It was the perfect balance of flavors, and we LOVED that this dish came with vegan butter, maple syrup, and buffalo sauce to dip the wings in! How fun is that?! The seitan (say-tahn) in the Italian Seitan Wrap was fantastic and extremely well-seasoned, bringing me back to childhood memories of pepperoni, and yummy deli sandwiches. The other ingredients in the wrap were also very tasty, and the vegan cheese, once reheated in my air frier, melted perfectly and I could enjoy the wrap a second time at home as a melty snack! We were absolutely too stuffed for dessert once we finished our meal, because the portions of the orders were huge, and very filling indeed. Surely, absolutely, we will be back to sample some of their sweet goodies, and many of their other menu options! Also, the service here was fantastic! Our waitress was extremely kind, and the other patrons were also calm and respectful while we were there. I highly recommend the Chicago location. There is also another location in Los Angeles to visit, which I plan on dropping in to in the future.
